Amitabh Bachchan to continue acting as long as producers want him

"I shall work as long as I am desired by producers to work in their projects and shall live so long as it is destined that I do.

if people are troubled by my extended profession or my extended life, it is not of any conern to me. I must do what I need to do," said the actor.

Writing in his blog, he said "I work because I have a profession, which gives me work and that is my commitment, I respect it. Beyond that, I have no great quotations to give that may well be restored for posterity." The actor said movie making is such a complex process and wondered whether the time spent in making one is more valuable than the results it produces.

"I have always enjoyed the process more than the end result and after. It is the immense fear and anxiety of judgement. No one likes that. But that is what motivates us to the profession. I often wish if we could spend all the time on the sets and not have to face the wrath and unpredictability of result, what a wonderful life it would be," the actor said.

'There is such a great sense of work on the sets. There is equally, such a great desire of distancing oneself from it when it is to be assessed by the mass. Assessment brings doubt and uncertainty. Life asks and tempts one into taking always the easy way out, but knows that is the one that is most treacherous. The brave keep going regardless, the weak succumb and sit by the shade of the tree, tired and prone to giving up', Amitabh said.
