Polling started at 8:30 am and finished at 5:00 pm. Unofficial counting of the votes and result would be announced soon while official counting and result would be announced on October 30.
Polling was conducted in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Multan, Bahawalpur and Abbotabad.
1100 out of 2126 voters belong to Lahore. At least 300 voters are in Karachi and Islamabad/ Rawalpindi each, 200 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 100 in Balochistan.
Three candidates contested for the top slot include Asma Jahangir, Ahmad Awais and Ikram Chaudhry while Sana Ullah Khan Zahid has already been elected unopposed as finance secretary of the SCBA.
Ms Asma Jahangir is former chairperson of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and enjoys support of many renowned lawyers.
Ahmad Awais has been the president of Lahore High Court Bar Association and is candidate of Hamid Khan led ‘professional group’ of lawyers.
While the third candidate Ikram Chaudhry has been enjoyed offices of vice president SCBA and president Rawalpindi High Court Bar.
