The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Political Affairs, Engr Amir Muqam here at his residence.
Leader of Opposition in NWFP Assembly, Shahzada Gustasp Khan, parliamentary leader of PPP (S) in NWFP Assembly, Syed Murid Kazim, parliamentary leader PML (Q), Mushtaq Ghani, Ex Deputy Speaker NWFP Assembly, Ikramullah Shahid and Independent MPAs attended the meeting.
It was unanimously decided that no trust motion against Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani would be withdrawn on Monday after achieving the desired objectives of blocking the dissolution of the assembly etc.
Engr Amir Muqam told APP that as the political situation in the province has been changed following the resignations of JI, ANP and PML (N) lawmakers from the provincial assembly and that now its is the constitutional and moral responsibility of the Chief Minister to take confidence vote from the house. Therefore, he said that PML and its allied parties decided to withdraw the motion.
PML (Q), PPP(S) and allied parties including independent MPAs had moved the non-confidence motion against the Chief Minister to stop the possible dissolution of NWFP assembly prior to presidential election.
