Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced the establishment of a National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases centre in the city’s Baldia town, which, he said, would also benefit residents of Keamari.

“There is a need for improvements in hospitals,” he told reporters after inaugurating a model park in the Metroville Site. “The vision is to build 50 new parks, and today we have inaugurated the second one.”

He expressed gratitude to the area’s people for supporting the Pakistan Peoples Party.

The Karachi mayor assured that the Hub Canal project would be completed by August. He added that the work on the Gutter Baghicha project would focus on water recycling.

He announced plans for a sports complex in Metroville and improvements in roads and drainage systems, with Rs20 million allocated per UC. He highlighted the distribution of streetlights, instructing their installation in public areas, and promised to provide each UC chairman with “50 warranty-backed streetlights and fumigation machines before Ramazan.”

Wahab also stated that numerous development projects would be completed by June 30, 2025. He invited young professionals to utilise the six vacant floors of the Liaquataabad Supermarket for IT-related work.
