A high-speed car hit a footpath after it overturned near Fine House on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi, leaving one dead and two injured.

An injured boy and girl, who were in the car, escaped by getting into a rickshaw after the accident, eyewitnesses, told the police.

Police claimed that a bottle of alcohol was also found in the car. They claimed that the deceased was a passerby, whose identity had not yet been established.

The body has been shifted to the hospital for legal formalities.

In August last year, two people were killed and four injured when a speeding vehicle lost control on Karachi’s Karsaz Road and crashed into pedestrians.

The deceased were identified as Imran Arif and Amina. The driver lost control of an SUV, which then collided with motorcycles and other vehicles, rescue officials had said.

The accident’s prime suspect was released by the Sindh High Court after spending 43 days behind bars. She got the bail after a settlement was reached between the parties involved in the car accident.
