Norway introduces updated seasonal work visa for 2025

Visa policy include a disqualification period

Norway has announced new regulations for its Seasonal Work Visa program for 2025, offering opportunities for skilled workers in high-demand sectors.

This visa allows non-European Economic Area (EEA) citizens to work in Norway for up to six months in industries such as agriculture, forestry, fishing, and tourism.

Recent updates to the visa policy include a disqualification period that mandates workers who held a seasonal visa in 2024 to leave Norway for six months before reapplying.

Additionally, only professions directly related to seasonal demand are eligible, excluding roles in construction and general labor.

The eligible seasonal occupations encompass harvesting, tree planting, logging, and positions within the tourism sector, including ski resorts and summer camps.

Applicants must secure a job offer from a registered Norwegian employer and provide proof of accommodation, financial support, and health insurance.

The application process involves submitting necessary documents through the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) or at a local embassy, followed by a biometrics appointment.

Given the expected volume of applications, officials advise prospective workers to apply early to avoid potential delays, particularly around public holidays.
