An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail indicted on Thursday former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Senator Shibli Faraz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and 14 other suspects in the GHQ attack case.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah, who heard the case, postponed the hearing until December 21, following their denial of the charges.

The other suspects include Shehryar Afridi, Kanwal Shozab, Shabir Awan, Latif Satti, Umar Tanveer Butt, Taimoor Masood Malik, Saad Ali Khan, Sikandar Zaib, Fahd Masood, Zohaib Afridi, and Raja Nasir Mehmood.

All defendants denied the charges and the court has scheduled the next hearing for Saturday.

As many as 113 suspects have been charged in the GHQ attack case. A preliminary hearing has been completed regarding the request made by jailed former prime minister Imran Khan for dismissal of charges due to “insufficient” evidence. The hearing on the request is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday) in the ATC in Rawalpindi.

KP Chief Minister Gandapur has appointed Ghulam Hasnain Sanbal as his pleader. Sanbal would represent the KP CM in 12 cases related to the incidents of May 9.

On the other hand, the ATC in Lahore conducted hearings for four cases related to the May 9 riots involving PTI leaders Qureshi and Umar Sarfraz Cheema.

The court completed the attendance of the accused in the other three cases and adjourned the hearings until January 12.

The cases include incidents involving the burning of vehicles outside the Jinnah House, Shadman Police Station, and Mughalpura.
