Fire breaks out in Tezgam Express on the way to Karachi
A fire broke out in a coach of the Tezgam Express traveling from Lahore to Karachi, resulting in the destruction of goods worth millions.
The incident occurred near Raiwind when the train reached the area, with flames suddenly igniting in the brake coach attached to the engine.
Passengers raised alarms upon noticing the smoke, prompting the train to be halted. Passengers, railway officials, and rescue teams worked together to detach the affected coach from the engine and bring the fire under control.
In the meantime, all trains traveling from Lahore to Karachi were stopped at Lahore Railway Station, and traffic on the entire downtrack was suspended.
According to officials, after several hours, the affected brake coach was detached, allowing the Tezgam Express to resume its journey to Karachi. Meanwhile, all incoming trains from Karachi to Lahore continued to operate as scheduled.
Railway authorities have formed a team to investigate the cause of the fire. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
