OGRA approves increase in gas prices for current financial year

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved a rise in gas prices for the current financial year as the cold weather grips the country.

Gas prices for SNGPL consumers would increase by 8.71 per cent while for SSGC customers, the price would rise by 25.78%, according to an OGRA statement.

The average price for SNGPL is set at Rs1,778.35 per MMBTU while for SSGC, the average price would be Rs1,762.51 per MMBTU.

OGRA has stated that the decision to increase gas prices has been forwarded to the federal government, and the final decision would be made following the government’s advice.
