Two terrorists killed while installing time bomb near Levies checkpost in Chaman

Administration collect evidence from the site

At least two terrorists were killed when the time bomb they were trying to install to a motorcycle near a security check post in Balochistan’s Chaman detonated, Levies Risaldar Habibullah said.

Levies forces arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies of the terrorists, along with pistols found in their possession.

The identities of the deceased have not yet been determined. Following the blast, security forces cordoned off the area and implemented strict security measures.

The administration collected evidence from the site and initiated further investigations into the incident.

Earlier in the day, at least two terrorists were killed and another arrested in injured condition during an exchange of fire with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in the general area of Kulachi on the reported presence of Khwarij.

Pakistan has seen an increase in militancy since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021, with the Pakistani chapter of the movement carrying out attacks mostly targeting security forces.

Earlier this month, a Frontier Corps captain and an army soldier were martyred in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu and Khyber districts.
