Three women arrested at Karachi Airport for attempting to beg in Saudi Arabia
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration officials apprehended three female passengers at Karachi Airport for attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia under the pretense of performing Umrah while allegedly planning to engage in begging.
According to the FIA, the women were caught red-handed as they tried to leave for Saudi Arabia. The arrested individuals have been identified as Arooj Fatima, Maryam Nazir, and Jamila Bibi.
In a statement, the FIA noted that the women raised suspicions during the immigration clearance process, as they did not possess return tickets or hotel bookings.
An FIA spokesperson stated that the women also lacked sufficient funds required for performing Umrah.
Furthermore, it was revealed that these same women had previously been offloaded from Lahore Airport for similar reasons.
They have since been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal action.
