Army Chief visits Peshawar following Apex Committee meeting
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar on November 19th, following a National Apex Committee meeting. He received a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation and the progress of counter-terrorism operations in the region. The briefing was attended by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and field commanders.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded in defense of the nation. He stated that these sacrifices demonstrate the unwavering commitment and dedication of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
The COAS commended the high morale, operational preparedness, and unwavering resolve of the troops in effectively countering all threats.
General Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to eliminating terrorist networks and neutralizing elements threatening national security.
He emphasized the collective resolve of the nation and security forces to combat terrorism, highlighting the priority of thwarting the nefarious designs of hostile elements.
He assured that through coordinated and effective operations, the Pakistan Army, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, will ensure lasting stability and security, ultimately defeating the aims of enemies of peace. The COAS was received by the Peshawar Corps Commander upon his arrival.
