The government of Punjab has initiated a mass marriage program aimed at assisting 3,000 underprivileged women.

Announced on October 21, the program is now accepting applications, with special teams set to visit applicants’ homes to ensure transparency.

In a country where weddings can be financially burdensome, particularly for low-income families, this initiative seeks to alleviate some of that pressure.

Each bride participating in the program will receive approximately Rs100,000 (about $350), along with essential household items such as furniture, clothing, and dinner sets.

Applications can be submitted online at the Punjab government’s website, and a dedicated helpline has been established for assistance.
