Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Salman Akram Raja’s lawyer, Hamid Khan, objected to Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa presiding over the case regarding appeals from the Punjab election tribunals and the Election Commission.

However, the Chief Justice rejected Hamid Khan’s objection. The court later reserved its decision.

The Supreme Court was hearing the case against the Lahore High Court’s decision regarding the formation of the election tribunals. A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is hearing the case.

During the hearing, Hamid Khan argued that they had objections to the Chief Justice hearing the case. In response, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa rejected the objection and remarked that if he wished to recuse himself, he could do so.

The Chief Justice asked Hamid Khan to remain seated, assuring him that he would be heard later. Following this, Hamid Khan left the courtroom.
