‘Hind’s Hall 2’: Macklemore teams up with Palestinian artists for new song

Profit from song will be contributed to UNRWA
MACKLEMORE - HIND’S HALL 2 feat. Anees, MC Abdul, Amer Zahr (LYRIC VIDEO)

The latest song released by American rapper Macklemore, Hind’s Hall 2, was an achievement for music advocacy, as it featured Palestinian artists Anees and MC Abdul.

The song was uploaded on YouTube on Friday, as a very pro-Palestine version, after the success of its original version Hind’s Hall. The name of the song is taken from Hind Rajab, a young girl who was killed by Israeli soldiers during a raid in Gaza.

Every fibre of the song’s lyrics spells out neither more toughness nor hope than the following words by Anees: “In our lifetime we will be free, and they can lay us, but by and by they will figure out we are seeds”. The video of the song is infused with poignant visual pieces of Gaza, which lay bare both the grief and the rise of the place of the past year.

The song also urges political leaders to reevaluate their support policy towards Israel.

Macklemore stated that the entire profit from the song would be contributed to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) to aid their disaster assistance. Besides that, this album’s release extended Macklemore’s credence as one of the most emphatically pro-Palestinian advocates in the music industry.
