British-Pakistani boxer Hamzah Sheeraz won the European middleweight title by defeating Tyler Denny at Wembley Stadium in London, British media reported.

Sheeraz knocked Denny down with a quick left hook in the first round and then ended the fight with another stunning headshot in the second, leading the referee to stop the match, according to Britain’s Sky Sports.

“I’m a very humble man, humble in life, but I feel great. Massive thank you to everybody for coming out to support me,” Sheeraz said.

“I always leave it down to my team. This wasn’t a banana skin for me, they got me in here for a reason and I delivered.”

“I’m tired of calling for world title fights now,” Sheeraz said. “Whoever is put in the ring with me, I’m knocking them out. It means everything and more (to be fighting here).”

After being knocked down by Sheeraz’s left hook early in the first round, Denny made a strong recovery, fighting aggressively on the inside. However, Sheeraz maintained control in the second round, staying on the offensive and giving Denny little chance to respond. Sheeraz landed a quick combination that sent Denny to the canvas again, prompting referee Mark Bates to stop the fight, much to the defending champion’s dismay.
