Faisalabad man beaten to death over suspicion of stealing cricket bat

Police have registered a case against three identified and eight unidentified individuals

Faisalabad police have registered a case and arrested one suspect in connection with the brutal murder of a 21-year-old man, Osama, who was allegedly kidnapped and tortured for three hours after being accused of stealing a cricket bat.

According to police reports, Osama, a resident of Gulberg Colony, was abducted by the suspects on Thursday. They held him captive and subjected him to severe torture using iron rods, sticks, and batons, leaving him in critical condition.

The suspects later contacted Osama’s father, demanding the return of their stolen cricket bat in exchange for his son’s release.

Upon reaching the location, Osama’s father found his son critically injured and rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Based on the complaint filed by Osama’s mother, police have registered a case against three identified suspects and eight unidentified individuals. One suspect, Shahan, has been arrested.

Osama was the only son of his parents and had three sisters. The City Police Officer (CPO) of Faisalabad has taken notice of the incident and instructed the relevant police to immediately arrest the remaining suspects.
