A prisoner from Camp Jail in Lahore escaped from Services Hospital while undergoing medical tests.

According to jail authorities, the prisoner, identified as Ahsan, was suffering from mental instability and was brought to the hospital for a CT scan. He was facing charges of sectarianism in Sheikhupura.

Ahsan was escorted to the hospital by a police team led by Sub-Inspector Khalid, the in-charge of the police’s judicial wing, along with four other officials. The prisoner managed to escape by pushing past the police officers.

A search operation is underway to apprehend the escaped prisoner.
