PTI leader Dr Shahid Siddique Khan was killed when unidentified men opened fire at him in Lahore on Friday, police said. He received four bullet wounds.

He was shot while on his way to offer Friday prayers at a mosque in the Valencia Town area. The PTI’s founding leader was also the Lahore Transport Company chairman.

The police and forensic teams have collected evidence and initiated investigations. Unknown suspects have been nominated in the first information report.

SSP Investigation Dr Anosh has stated that the investigation was ongoing to look into all aspects of the incident.

“The suspects have reportedly committed the murder of Dr Shahid Sadiq due to unknown motives by opening fire. We will ensure the elimination of such dangerous elements involved in such serious incidents,” he said.
