Dawoodi Bohra community leader Syedna Mufaddal concludes Pakistan visit

Spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin concluded his 23-day Pakistani visit on Saturday where he also attended Ashura congregation and other community events.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah bid farewell to the community’s spiritual leader at the Old Terminal of the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Provincial Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro accompanied the CM.

Before flying, Dr Saifuddin prayed for the prosperity and security of the people of Pakistan and the world and resolution of Pakistan’s debt issues.

The Dawoodi Bohra community’s spiritual leader arrived in Karachi on July 4 at the invitation of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Earlier, the Sindh CM called on Dr Saifuddin and presented him with three copies of over 150-year-old handwritten Tafseer-e-Quran and khutbas of Bohra Jamaat leaders. The religious community’s leader thanked the CM for “such beautiful handwritten old and rare books.”

During his trip, the provincial chief minister had urged the community’s spiritual leader to also visit the city next year.

The Sindh governor thanked the Bohra community’s leader for visiting Pakistan.

“During a farewell call at the airport, the spiritual leader said that he was leaving Pakistan with love, sincerity and affection. He said that the love, he received during his stay in Pakistan would always be remembered,” the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

On Friday, Dr Saifuddin called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Bilawal House in Karachi on Friday.

The Bohra community was playing a significant role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan, President Zardari said and added that it was participating in the economy and business sectors of Pakistan.

The president lauded the services of the Bohra community in the education and health sectors.
