Actor Johnny Wactor death mystery resolved
Actor Johnny Wactor died from a gunshot wound to the chest during an attempted catalytic converter theft, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed.
The incident occurred in the early hours of May 25 as Wactor and a female co-worker were leaving their bartending shift. Wactor’s brother, Grant, shared that they initially thought Wactor’s car was being towed when they noticed it was lifted. They soon realised it was being targeted by thieves.
Wactor stepped in front of his co-worker to shield her, raising his hands in a non-confrontational manner. The assailants opened fire and fatally wounded the actor. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Grant Wactor described the perpetrators as “cowards with guns in their hands,” emphasising his brother’s selfless act of protection.
Johnny Wactor was widely known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular soap opera ‘General Hospital.’ He had a successful career appearing in various TV shows and films. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his family with funeral and travel expenses.
