Missing poet Ahmad Farhad found in police custody
Poet Ahmad Farhad who went missing from the federal capital reportedly for his firebrand poetry has been found in the custody of Azad Jammu Kashmir police, Islamabad High Court was told on Wednesday.
The Islamabad High Court heard the case regarding the recovery of the missing Kashmiri poet, Ahmad Farhad. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani presided over the proceedings on Wednesday.
Attorney General Mansoor Awan, Additional Attorney General Munawar Iqbal Dogar, and Minister for Law and Justice Nazeer Tarar appeared before the court.
The Attorney General informed the court that the whereabouts of the missing poet Ahmad Farhad have been determined. He is a suspect in a case registered in the Bagh district and is currently under police custody.
This revelation marks a crucial development in the case, which has garnered widespread attention. Farhad’s disappearance had sparked concerns across the country, prompting demands for his recovery.
The court had given one week to the attorney general to locate the poet, who is of Kashmiri origins.
Earlier, it summoned the defence and interior ministers in the case.
