Pakistan’s Hamza Khan suffers setback at World Squash Championships
In a surprising turn of events at the World Squash Championships held in Egypt, Pakistani player Hamza Khan suffered a setback as he was eliminated in the first round.
Khan, a former world junior champion, failed to qualify for the second round of the tournament.
Expectations were high for a strong performance from Khan in the mega event, but he faced defeat in his opening match against Switzerland’s Nicolas Müller.
Khan lost to Müller in three straight games. The scores were 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 in favour of the Swiss player, securing victory over the Pakistani competitor.
He was the sole Pakistani player participating in the event. His early exit from the tournament comes as a disappointment for squash enthusiasts in Pakistan.
