At least three terrorists, including two ring leaders, have been killed in an exchange of fire with the security forces in the Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the intelligence based operation was conducted on “24-25 April 2024” on the reported presence of terrorists.
The two terrorist ringleaders were identified as Sohail alias Azmato and Haji Gul alias Zarkavi. Militants’ hideout was also busted during the operation.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, the ISPR said and added that the terrorists “remained actively involved” in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
“Locals of the area appreciated the operation. Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
