Shane Watson frontrunner to become Pakistan men’s team head coach

Mike Hesson and Daren Sammy also contenders for the position

Former Australian cricketer Shan Watson is frontrunner to become the head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, sources said.

In this regard, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is holding negotiations with Watson, who is currently serving as the head coach of Quetta Gladiators.

Among the potential contenders are also Mike Hesson and Daren Sammy for the coaching role.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is likely to soon decide on the appointment of the new coach.

Watson appeared in 59 Tests, 190 ODIs, and 58 T20s for Australia. He is a two-time Allan Border Medallist, a dual IPL MVP and former Australia captain in all formats.
