The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the date for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) player draft in 2024 on Wednesday.

The draft event is set for December 13, 2023.

PSL 9 is tentatively to commence from February 8 to March 24, 2024

It was reported that because of the general elections, the first 15 matches of the PSL would probably be moved to South Africa or the United Arab Emirates.

Sources revealed that the PSL governing council meeting was held and the production staff and sponsors were briefed by the PCB.

Sources claim that because of the general elections, Pakistan cannot host the PSL’s first round.

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB management committee, had asked the PSL franchises to consider holding the competition overseas.

The PSL teams, however, were hesitant to move the domestic tournament overseas as the expenses would rise even more.

The PSL franchises wanted to know if they could hold the league in Pakistan. However, no final decision has been taken in the meeting.
