Zaka Ashraf given three months extension
Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has given a three-month extension to the Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf.
The committee would hold elections within three months, according to the notification issued by the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry on Saturday.
Ashraf heads the 10-member management committee.
Ashraf-led PCB Management Committee was formed in July 2023 for a four-month period, and the caretaker PM, using his prerogative as patron of the PCB, has given a three-month extension, said the PCB.
The development comes a day after caretaker PM Kakar said that a decision regarding Ashraf’s future as the PCB chief would be taken after the World Cup.
Kakar’s announcement came hours after the national cricket team won against New Zealand in a rain-hit match in the World Cup, keeping hopes alive for going into the semi-final stage of the event.
