Financial crisis deepens as PIA cancels more flights
**The financially strapped national airline has cancelled dozens of domestic and international flights as the management crisis deepens.
The management crisis of the national airline PIA has become serious, 35 domestic and international flights have been canceled while the schedule of several national flights has also been affected.
According to PIA Deputy Spokesman Athar Awan, 48 domestic and international flights have been canceled in two days due to the non-availability of fuel.
The spokesman said that the reason for the disruption in fuel supply is non-payment of dues, as PIA is unable to pay dues to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) on time due to financial difficulties.
According to sources, from October 8 to 17, the PSO owed Rs 1 billion 85 crore to PIA, of which Rs 1 billion 10 crore has been paid.
