PMLN Senator Rana Maqbool passes away
Rana Maqbool, a member of the Senate belonging to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, passed away on Tuesday.
Maqbool was elected to Senate as an independant candidate in 2018 and joined PMLN later.
He had been away from active politics for some time due to ill-health.
Maqbool was a former bureaucrat from the police service who had served as Sindh’s inspector general. In 1999, he was accused of being behind an attempt on Asif Zardari’s life. However, a court gave him a clean chit in 2006.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said that Maqbool was an exemplary politician and parliamentarian.
