COAS believes no political party sincere with Pakistan, claims businessman
A leading businessman has claimed that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir believes none of the political parties in the country is sincere with Pakistan.
Speaking on a TV show, Businessman Zubair Motiwala recalled Gen Munir’s meeting with business leaders in Lahore and Karachi. He was one of the participants. Irfan Shaikh, who was another participant, also spoke on Samaa TV show Nadeem Malik Live.
Clips of the show have been shared by host Nadeem Malik on the social media platform X.
When asked by Nadeem Malik what the army chief had said about political parties, Motiwala said Munir had said none of them were sincere with Pakistan.
Irfan Sheikh, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, also said that in the same interview that the army chief had actually named eight to 10 politicians and said they used to drive motorcycles but were now living abroad.
The claim comes after multiple reports over the last few days of the army chief meeting businessmen in Lahore and Karachi where he proposed solutions to Pakistan’s economic problems.
The reports also said that the army chief claimed to have secured a $25 billion investment from Saudi Arabia through the Special Investment Facilitation Council. He also claimed that a total of $100 billion would be brought eventually.
The COAS also made statements about not tolerating corruption and coming down hard on smuggling.
He was quoted as saying that the ‘IMF program is killing Pakistan’ and the country should not go back to the money lender.
