Treasure hunter Pakistani man ends up destroying century old family house
A man in Punjab’s Sadiqabad town dug up his century-old family house in search of treasure. However, the structure partially collapsed on Saturday causing damage to the property next door. Now the treasure hunter faces a police case filed by his neighbours.
The old neighbourhoods in Sadiqabad have dozens of pre-partition homes. People claim treasures are buried under some of the old structures.
Mohammad Arshad, a young man in the Sanjarpur neighbourhood, also believed that the house where he and his parents lived could yield gold and other valuables. He started digging up the floor.
His neighbour tried to persuade him out of his treasure hunt, but in vain.
The dilapidated structure partially collapsed on Saturday, with debris falling into the adjacent house, which was damaged.
The neighbour has now filed a police complaint at Kot Sabzal Police Station against Arshad for damaging his property.
Arshad has also lost the roof over his head.
