Path opened to restore relations with US: Bilawal

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that due to the diplomatic efforts of the current government, a path had been opened to restore bilateral relations with the United States.

In a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the government heads to a close, Bilawal said that his government had faced multiple challenges on the diplomatic front as he took office.

He added that they were faced with the Financial Action Task Force grey list and commended State Minister Hina Rabbani Khar’s efforts to get Pakistan out of it.

Bilawal said that Pakistan wanted to support its negihboring country Afghanistan, but would not compromise on its own security.

He also said that not only had work on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor been replaced but the government had also marked 10 years of the monumental project.

Bilawal went on to say that while the Russia-Ukraine war had changed the international landscape but it was a mark of Pakistan’s diplomacy that the foreign ministers of Belarus and Ukraine had toured Pakistan recently.

He added that when Pakistan faced devastating floods, he had raised the plight of affectees in front of the world and had even helped the UN general secretary meet flood victims.
