CCTV footage contradicts civil judge’s wife statement
CCTV footage of the minor maid, who was allegedly beaten up by her employees, has contradicted the claims of the accused. It shows the victim limped heavily as she moved from the judge’s residence to the bus stand.
It also shows that her mother helped her while walking. Rizwana can be seen getting out of the car and with the help of other passengers she got on the bus.
The footage came out a day after Somia Asim was arrested by the police after the court rejected her bail application on Monday.
Yesterday the lawyer of the accused Somia Asim said in the court that in the police record it is stated that the accused did not commit violence and that Soumia Asim repeatedly asked to send the maid back. The girl sat at the bus stop for two and a half hours and could not get up at that time.
Somia’s lawyer told the court that her client safely handed over the minor to her mother. The statement recorded before the police alleged that the accused did not torture the minor maid and time after time called for sending her back.
Somia denied allegations of torture on her maid when she appeared before the joint investigation team. She also claimed to have given Rs60,000 to her maid’s mother.
Meanwhile, Lahore General Hospital Medical Superintendent Muhammad Khalid said that Rizwana’s treatment was under way. The girl’s scalp is coming off due to her injuries, he added.
Dr Khalid said that Rizwana’s head has been bandaged and added that her condition was better on Tuesday.
The doctor stated that the victim was not able to walk fully yet and a surgery would be done on her arms after her head injuries get better.
