Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association have announced a shutdown of petrol pumps throughout the country from July 22.

Petrol dealers say they disagree with the government over profit margins. However, they say that despite letting the government know about their concerns there has been no answer.

The dealers say that the current government has fixed their margin of profit at 2.4% which they believe to be inadequate.

They also say that smuggled petrol from Iran has caused sales to plunge by 30% but the government is not putting an end to the smuggling either.

The association has announced that pumps will stay closed until the government alleviates their concerns.
