The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Punjab province has foiled a major terror plot on Eid-ul-Azha by arresting 9 suspected terrorists including a woman linked with a banned outfit. The arrests were made after officers raided locations in three different cities.

In a statement on Tuesday, the CTD officials said that the operation was conducted in Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan.

Officials say that the arrested woman is also an active member of the banned organization’s network.

Hand grenades, material for making suicide jackets, and cash was recovered from the suspects.

According to CTD officials, the suspected terrorists have been identified as Adnan, Abdul Halim, Shiraz, Bilqis, and Umar bin Khalid.

The officials says that the network of the banned organization was planning terror attacks on Eid-ul-Adha.

The statement added that an investigation has been started after registering cases against the terrorists.

CTD conducted 124 combing operations this week, in which 11 suspects were arrested, officials said.

Officials say that the CTD is trying to crack down on miscreants.
