Funeral prayers in absentia for Dawoods to be held on Tuesday
Funeral prayers in absentia for Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, who died in the Titan submersible accident, will be held on June 27, the family announcedon Monday.
The announcement was made via a tweet by the Dawood foundation.
The prayers will be livestramed on the Dawood Foundation Youtbe channel and will be held at 6:30 pm Pakistan time.
Shahzada Dawood was prominent Pakistani businessman and vice chairman of the Engro group. His 19-year-old son, Suleman, was a student at Strathclyde University in Scotland. Both were aboard the Titan submersible that never made it back from the Titanic exploration of the coast of Canada.
British billionaire and explorer Hamish Harding, 58, French oceanographer and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, who had visited the wreck dozens of times; and Stockton Rush, the American founder and chief executive of OceanGate, who was piloting the submersible were also among those who never made it back.
