Lightning kills six in Sindh’s Tharparkar
At least six people were killed, while eight others sustained injuries when lightning struck in Tharparkar, a district in Sindh province.
The lighting struck near Mithi, the capital of Tharparkar District, while heavy rain was reported in Islamkot, Nagarparkar, and in their surrounding areas.
Police said the accident took place near the nearby village of VediJhap when more than 100 people were walking to attend the fair.
The bodies and injured were moved to Civil Hospital Mithi, where an emergency was declared.
Moreover, heavy rain and thunderstorms wreaked havoc in Larkana.
New system of rains enters in Balochistan
A new series of rains also started in Balochistan and turned the weather pleasant. Zhob, Kohlu, and Jhal Magsi received heavy rain and hailstorm.
In Kohlu, heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds were reported in the city and in the surrounding areas.
Similarly, heavy rain was reported in Goth Mithu and various areas on the outskirts of Jhal Magsi. Crops were damaged in the area.
Surrounding areas also received light rain and thunderstorms.
In Zhob, heavy rain and hailstorm disrupted life in the city and surrounding areas, due to rain, the vehicle got stuck in the water at Zhob River.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rains in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir.
A new rain system has entered the upper and western parts of the country, said the Met office. There is a possibility of rain in Islamabad from Monday to Wednesday.
Heavy rain is also expected in various cities of Punjab including Bhakkar, Mianwali, DG Khan, Multan, Sargodha, Jauharabad, Khushab, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Murree.
