Rasheed sent to Murree on transit remand, says won’t switch loyalties
A district and sessions court in Islamabad handed Sheikh Rasheed over to Murree police on a one-day transit remand.
The court ordered that Rasheed should be presented in Murree’s court by 2pm on Thursday.
Hearing a petition filed by Murree Police Investigation Officer Shakeel Ahmad, the court ordered that Rasheed be brought from Adiala jail for the hearing.
Speaking to the media while being brought to court in handcuffs, he claimed that he is being pressured to change his loyalties.
“I won’t switch loyalties at this age,” he said.
He also said that handing him over to the Murree Police was unnecessary as they had already questioned him. He also said that his mobile phone and other valuables had been taken into custody by the police and were yet to be returned.
Sheikh Rasheed’s bail in a case registered in Islamabad has already been rejected. There is another case registered against him in Karachi.
