PTI decides to dissolve Punjab, KP assemblies till Dec 20
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies till December 20.
“We have decided to dissolve the assemblies and the assemblies will be dissolved by the 20th of this month,” spokesperson Punjab Government Musrat Jamshed Cheema said on Thursday.
Cheema said that Khyal Ahmed Castro had been sworn in as minister for a week, adding that Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi talked about giving Castro a department rather than a ministry. However, she said, it would have been better if he had not taken the oath of the ministry.
The PTI chairman had earlier said that he was determined to dissolve Punjab and KP assemblies this month, urging the senior party leadership to constitute a parliamentary board.
The PTI has also decided to start a new campaign ‘Election Karao, Mulk Bachao’ (conduct election, save country) for early elections.
Sources said that it was part of the former ruling party’s strategy to give the tough time to the government. The PTI has given the coalition government an ultimatum to either “sit and talk and give a date for the general elections” or “we will dissolve the assemblies”.
