PTI MLA hits former PM AJK Raja Farooq Haider with cell phone
The meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, which was held on the requisition of the opposition, turned into a riot after MLA Sardar Faheem Akhtar Rabbani, belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, threw a cell phone aiming at former prime minister Raja Farooq Haider.
MLAs from the opposition and treasury benches thrashed each other after which the meeting of the assembly was adjourned.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers also reached the assembly building in large numbers.
Officials of the administration including the commissioner, deputy commissioner, and SSP were also present on the occasion and stopped the workers from entering the assembly building.
The protesters also attempted to open the gate of the assembly and demanded Faheem Akhtar Rabbani be handed over to them.
Opposition Leader Latif Akbar brought a privilege motion against the Leader of the House, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.
Speaker Assembly Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq invited some ministers from both the treasury and opposition benches to his chamber.
The commotion in the assembly started after Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Latif Akbar’s speech accused Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer of coming to the Assembly with money.
