Centuries-old artifacts discovered in Saudi Arabia
Artifacts having 1400-year-old text and dating back to the time of the third Muslim Caliph have been discovered in Saudi Arabia, the Archeological Department announced.
The Saudi Heritage Commission tweeted images of the rocks having inscriptions.
Text on the artifacts discovered at Aalia - a rocky mountainous region near Makkah - has details related to the events that led to the nomination of Hazrat Usman RA, it added.
In early June, fossils of a huge marine lizard dating back more than 80 million years were found during excavation work on the western Saudi coast.
