At least 8 killed, 110 injured in Peshawar madressah blast
At least 8 people were killed and more than 110 have sustained injuries on Tuesday morning in an explosion that took place at a seminary in Peshawar's Dir Colony, Aaj News Reported.
According to details, the explosion took place while students were attending Quran class.
The explosion was so severe that it spread panic in the area.
Rescue teams reached the site after being informed and shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital, where an emergency has been declared.
Many injured children are said to be in critical condition, hospital sources revealed.
Security forces also reached the site and have cordoned off the area. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast.
As per SSP operations, an unknown man placed a red-colored bag inside the seminary which was followed by an explosion. He added that 5-6 kg explosive material was used in the blast.
KP Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra also confirmed the death toll.
