Former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan has submitted a written apology in the Supreme Court over his February 18 remarks.

The former attorney general has sought an  unconditional apology from the Supreme Court over his controversial remarks about the judges, According to details

Anwar Mansoor said in the written apology that he has the highest regard and respect for the judiciary, adding that he cannot think of any adverse comment about the honor and integrity of the apex court, I withdraw my statement made on February 18, 2020 and unconditionally apologize for having made the same, he added.

It is pertinent to remember that the former AGP tendered his resignation after Pakistan Bar Council asked to leave the position over his controversial remarks against the Supreme Court judges during the hearing of Justice Qazi Faez Isa case.

The outgoing Mansoor in his resignation stated, "I note with profound regret that the Pakistan Bar Council, of which I am the chairman, has demanded through its press release dated February 19, 2020 that I resign forthwith from the office of the attorney-general for Pakistan.

He added, "Being a life member of the Karachi Bar Association, Sindh Bar Association and the Supreme Court Bar Association, and having previously served as the advocate-general Sindh, the attorney-general for Pakistan and a judge of the High Court of Sindh, I stand with my brothers and colleagues at the Bar and I wish to reaffirm my faith in the highest principles of integrity and professional excellence that the Pakistan Bar Council has always stood for.
