LAHORE: Angry mob of lawyers on Wednesday invaded the emergency ward of Punjab Institute of Cardiology in Lahore, vandalized public property and attacked provincial minister Fayyaz ul Hasan Chohan.

Law enforcement officials were outnumbered against the malicious mob of lawyers. The motive behind the invasion is yet to be known.

There were reports of casualties at the emergency ward of the hospital as a result of the confusion and fear that spread inside the facility as the lawyers barged into the building.

Punjab Minister for Information Chohan who arrived at the hospital was physically abused by the lawyers. He was then escorted out of the hospital.

Chohan while speaking to media stated that, he came to deal with the situation but they (lawyers) started abusing him and tried to kidnap him.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of incident at Punjab Institute of Cardiology in Lahore.

He has sought report from Chief Secretary and Inspector General Police of Punjab in this regard.
