PPP renews call for PM's resignation, demands justice

ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties on Friday renewed their call for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) lawmakers also ramped up the pressure against the ruling PML-N, Aaj News reported. 

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has said that the PPP always supporting the democratic process and upheld supremacy of Parliament.

Talking to newsmen outside Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, he said institutions are our strengthen and we should always resort to them for resolution of issues.

Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan demanded setting up of the Judicial Commission on Panama Papers. He was of the view that JIT cannot probe into allegations of corruption.

Following SC's decision in Panama papers case, opposition parties rejected the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the PM's family, claiming that the Sharifs have links with the Inter-Services Intelligence, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, and the State Bank of Pakistan.
