Ayaz Sadiq terms ruling on Nawaz, Imran references constitutional
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that his ruling on two references submitted against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan were issued after thorough examination and careful analysis of the documents in light of constitution, rules and regulations.
According to a press release issued by a National Assembly spokesman, Sadiq said he didn't make decisions to create equilibrium by forwarding two references from each side to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), rather it was based on merit.
Sadiq said that the ECP was the right forum to decide the fate of these documents within 90 days.
While talking to a private news channel, the speaker said that Khan has disrespected the House by denying his speakership.
“House has selected me as Speaker National Assembly but Imran khan seems to have personal issues with me," he added.
“Khan should accept the fact that he and his party leaders have thrice lost elections against me. He should accept the decision of the people and also understand working of the Speaker's office." - APP
