WEB DESK: Age is just a number. It has been proved in the case of Adnan Siddiqui. He started his career with a play called "Uroosa" and his career has never seen fall. The actor has proved his versatility.

While we are busy in watching his dramas these days, there comes the news that he has signed a Bollywood movie, Boney Kapoor’s Mom, in which Adnan is playing Sridevi's husband.

However, according to Adnan, this isn't the only movie he was offered from across the border; there were more, which he turned down because he didn't find the roles substantial or interesting enough.

"There were a couple of offers to do Hindi films - some I liked, some I didn't. I got a call from Yash Raj Films (YRF) for a role in Mardaani. They wanted me to audition for a role of a villain (and) I found the part interesting,” the actor said.

Adnan talked about the benefits of Zee Zindagi’s launch. His dramas Ru Baru, Ruswaiyaan and Qayamat were much appreciated by fans on the other side of the border, bringing him into the limelight.

Hence, it was natural that the talented actor caught the fancy of many a producer in Bollywood. It seems Adnan's focus was to do profound roles and not just be a sidekick - the reason why he rejected earlier offers.

“Later, they (YRF) called up saying they got a young villain and wanted me to play a police officer instead and I was not keen on playing that so I said no," he shared.

The other film Adnan rejected was Mahesh Bhatt's Jism 2. But with Mom, which also stars fellow actress Sajal Alyy, Adnan seems to have found what he was looking for.

"I have been part of the industry for 27 years and I have proved myself. I wanted to try something different. I wanted to do something of substance in the Hindi film industry and Mom was the perfect choice," he added.

Adnan will also be seen in Hassan Waqas Rana's upcoming film Yalghaar alongside Shaan and Bilal Ashraf. He is all set to don the producer's hat for TV serial Seeta Bagri, expected to hit the airwaves in September.
