Hyderabad: One constable dies, ten others receive injuries as two groups clash
HYDERABAD: A policeman lost his life while nine others received injuries in a clash between two groups here at Koh Noor Chowk late Tuesday night.
According to police, two armed persons started aerial firing during a procession, taken out in connection with the birth anniversary of the Hazrat Ali (RA). When a group of the procession asked them to stop aerial firing, they refused and the hot conversation converted into the scuffle and later firing.
As a result of firing, 10 persons including the guard of the DSP City, Faisal Rind and an received bullet wounds.
The injured were immediately rushed to hospital where Faisal Rind succumbed to his injuries.
The other injured persons including ASI Azam, Mubarak, Shaan, Junaid, Talha, Tahir, Arshad, Naveed, Shakir and Mahabat Khan have been admitted in different wards of the hospital for treatment.
During a scuffle, some of the angry persons also pelted stones on moving vehicles and snatched cash and mobile phone sets from the passersby. The situation was later brought under control after intervention of the law enforcement agencies.
