Firing during NA-19 polling killed two persons

HARIPUR: At least two people were killed including a policeman in firing by some unknown men near a polling station during the re-polling of seven polling stations of NA-19 held by Election Commission of Pakistan.

Instead of strict security arrangements, some unknown men opened fire and killed two people, including one policeman, and manged to escape easily. Polling in NA-19 started at 8:00 AM in the morning on Wednesday until five in the evening.

NA-19 in Provincial Assembly is running for a competition between PML-N candidate Umar Ayub and PTI candidate Dr Raja Aamir Zaman. According to the previous polling results for NA-19, Dr Raja Aamir Zaman won the seat. But unsatisfied views of the opposition parties forced the Election Commission of Pakistan to re-poll in the area.
