Anti polio vaccine will continue : Sharjeel
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wendesday said that anti-polio campaign will continue across the province by local authorities.
According to an official statement here, Memon has issued the directives to the Sindh Secretary Local Government and the Secretary Health on this account.
Memon said that the Government will accelerate the campaign as much as the terrorists will try to stop anti-polio campaign.
Minister said that anti-polio vaccination campaign be launched on an emergency basis under at Tehsil Municipal Council , Union Councils, District Councils and Local Government Ministry subsidiaries.
Sharjeel directed the Secretary Local Government and the Secretary health to spread the polio vaccine campaign in the nook and corner of province and utilize all resources of Local Government in this regard.
He said the Government will not yield to the terrorists and will not let the children of province become paralyzed by polio.
He said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah took note of Tuesday's attack on anti-polio vaccinators and sought report from IG Sindh and other officers concerned and has directed to arrest the culprits immediately.
He said the anti-polio vaccinators will not be left alone and financial assistance of the anti-polio vaccinators who martyred on Tuesday, has also been announced. He also appealed to the people of the province to play their role to foil all the conspiracies of terrorists to sabotage the polio vaccine campaign.
